This series contains the correspondence files of the Protector of Islanders Office, Aboriginal and Island Affairs Department, and other government department responsible for oversight of the Torres Strait Islands and far north Queensland. The majority of the correspondence in this series was sent between Government officials and is generally administrative in nature. It relates to a range of matters incuding Missions, Reserves, Settlements, adoptions, employment, health and social services, education, housing, children’s homes, deaths, complaints, and policing.
