There is a small collection of records from the Raukkan Aboriginal School, also known as the Point McLeay Mission School, held by the State Records of South Australia. The collection includes admission registers and inspectors registers, which contain information about the school itself, and children attending the school, which includes Aboriginal children living at Raukkan/Point McLeay Mission.

The Admission registers in this collection contain basic details about children admitted to the school. The information varies slightly over time, but generally includes the student’s name, gender, date of admission, date of birth, religion, names and occupations of parents/guardians, address, previous schools and when left, grade on admission, attendance, date of leaving the school, and other remarks. There are two groupings of admission registers as follows:

Admission Registers, 1965-1994 (GRS/16154)
There are two volumes of Inspector’s registers (GRG18/335/2) for the Raukkan/Point McLeay Mission School in this collection dating from 1907-1926 and 1949-1969. State Records of South Australia has published little information about these registers in their catalogue, however they likely contain short reports about the school made by visiting inspectors.
