The Visitors’ Books, Series ID 988, relate to the Westbrook Reformatory, Lytton Reformatory, Diamantina Reformatory, and Hulk ‘Proserpine’ Reformatory. They record both official and unofficial visitors to the Westbrook reformatory. Among the official visitors were Visiting Justices, Visiting Medical Officers, researchers from international institutions, ministers of religion, etc. Information recorded includes: date of visit, visitor’s signature and rank or profession, object or purpose of visit, and any remarks.
