Warburton Mission

Warburton Mission is a collection of 120 coloured slides created by Mervyn Young between 1958 and 1961 when he was a missionary at Warburton Mission. The slides are held by the State Library of Western Australia and the collection is made up of 3 groups of photos which have digitised versions of the images available online. The collection includes images of staff, buildings and Aboriginal families.

The images are available online. Access to the originals is restricted due to preservation reasons. The images are for personal use only, to publish or display them, contact the State Library of Western Australia.

  In this group photos include images of children, adults and facilities at Warburton Mission. There is also a photo of nearby Cosmo Newbery Mission. The series includes photographs of missionaries Mervyn and Joy Young and Iris and William Wade and Heather Mollenhauer, nurse missionary.

  Photographs in this group are of children, adults and facilities at Warburton Range Native Mission, Cosmo Newbery Mission and Mount Margaret Mission. The photos include images of the missionaries Mervyn and Joy Young and Sam Mollenhauer.

The photographer, Mervyn Young, was a missionary at Warburton Mission in the late fifties and his wife, a nurse, ran the hospital.
