DETAILS
Records of the Church Missionary Society of Australia (CMS), North Australia Committee, are held by the Northern Territory Archives Service (NTAS). To access these records, contact the Northern Territory Archives Service (NTAS). It may also be necessary to contact the Church Missionary Society of Australia before accessing these records, but the first step is to contact NTAS.
There are twenty-four listed series of records in this collection dated from 1907 to 1989. The series include general records relating to CMS's activities within the Angurugu, Oenpelli, Roper River, Numbulwar, and Umbakumba communities, and the Church Missionary Society Home for Half-Castes Mulgoa and Milleewa Home. The collection also includes general theological books, publications, religious instruction and school syllabuses and information about training allowances.
The entries in each series are arranged in alphabetical order by the name of the creator or collector. The basic series information for each record series registered under each creator consists of series number with a prefix (which can be NTRS, E, F or O), the series title and date range.
We do not currently have any records linked to this organisation, but records may exist. The Find & Connect Support Service can help people who lived in orphanages and children's institutions look for their records.
