The file shows the types of forms that might have been used for children in 'care' during the 1950s and up until the early 1970s, but as the file is undated, these years are approximate, based on the departments named on the files. The forms give an insight into the kind of information the departments kept about children in their care, and the types of activites for which information was kept (e.g admission & discharge into an institution, adoption, fostering, court appearances, & payments received).
The file was created by the Department of Native Welfare and shows all the forms that may have been used for administration of matters involving Aboriginal people. Many of these forms will also interest non-Aboriginal people who were in out of home care as they were forms in general use.
We do not currently have any records linked to this organisation, but records may exist. The Find & Connect Support Service can help people who lived in orphanages and children's institutions look for their records.
