Gnowangerup Mission records, 1927-1962 [microform]

Gnowangerup Mission records, 1927-1962 [microform] is a collection held on microfilm in the Battye Library’s Private Archives Collection at the State Library of Western Australia. Records include marriage registers, burial and birth certificates, lists of residents, a ration register, and financial records for a range of years. Records are restricted to protect people’s privacy.

The Library has prepared a manuscript note that details the collection (MN 2398). The records of Gnowangerup Mission include:

• marriage registers (1927-1959);
• burial certificates (1935-1962);
• birth registration certificates (1938);
• lists of residents (1936, 1942);
• receipt and expenditure book (1938); and
• a ration register (1938-1942).

Access Conditions

Access is restricted to protect the privacy of individuals. Birth records are restricted for 75 years after creation of the record and marriage records for 60 years. Applications to obtain information from restricted records are available from Library staff.
