Description
Hostility to sending boy to country is an item from the Sunday Times. The item tells about the policy at the Kenwick Farm which made young men take jobs in the country at the end of their training. One young man wanted to stay in the city and Miss Lefroy who was his guardian and principal of Sister Kate's Home (which ran the farm) would not let him stay. A Health Department inspector objected to the policy and the Sunday Times was 'called in to hear both sides of the argument in the presence of the boy' whose photograph is included in the article. It was reported that all parties agreed that the dispute would be publicised and comments invited from the public.
