This book contains the names and details of children residing in a home or institution who received punishments while there. The name of the home/institution that created this book has not been conclusively identified, however the initials of the Manager written at the top of the first page suggest that the book could be from Werrington Park. Details recorded in the punishment book include child's name, date of birth, alleged misconduct, name of complainant and witnesses, plea, decision, and details of punishment, including by whom inflicted. The book is held by Museusms of History NSW (State Archives).
Access to these records by members of the public is restricted for 100 years.
People wishing to access records about themselves will need to submit a GIPA (Government Information Public Access) form to the Department of Communities and Justice Open Government, Information and Privacy unit.
