This series contains completed application forms for boys who travelled to South Australia under the British Boy Farm Apprentice Scheme, also known as the Barwell Scheme. The forms include personal details for each boy, address in the United Kingdom, referees, name of parent or guardian, date of arrival in South Australia and the name of the ship they travelled on. Files also contain correspondence between the applicant and the Immigration Department once the applicant arrived in South Australia. A list of the names of the almost 1500 boys who are mentioned in this series can be found on the Consignments page.
