The Mental Health Act Amendment Act 1966 (Act No.67/1966) commenced on 24 November 1966. Its long title was 'An Act to amend the Mental Health Act, 1935-1965'. Its main provisions were to repeal certain sections of the principal Act, and to replace the name of 'Director-General' or 'Director-General of Medical Services' with the word 'Director'.
