Legacy Children at Blamey House

This is a copy of an image published in The West Australian on Friday 9 December 1949. The image shows a boy ringing a bell, with children in the background, at Blamey House.

Caption reads, 'Blarney House, which was a wartime hostel for servicemen in Melbourne, has been acquired by the Legacy Club for children of deceased servicemen. It is set in spacious grounds and at present has 13 boys and girls staying there. A nine-year-old boy ringing a ship's bell which calls the children from play to their meals.'
