This item from The Perth Gazette and Western Australian Journal. It is an example of the type of work undertaken by the Methodist 'native interpreter', Francis Armstrong. In this article, Armstrong gave translated evidence on behalf of an Aboriginal man who was the victim of an assault by a settler. At the time, Armstrong was also the superintendent of the Mount Eliza Native Institution.
