These records are held by Public Record Office Victoria (1973 - current).
School Records is a series of records created by the Glendonald School for Deaf Children, and held by the Public Record Office of Victoria. The series contains records pertaining to students, administration, school publications, correspondence, inspections, and school council and committees. These records were collected by the Education Department from the Glendonald School following its closure in 1992, and are believed to be the only remaining records of the school.
This series is made up of two consignments, one of which has open access (P0001), and one of which has closed access (P0002). For access to open records please contact the Public Records Office of Victoria. Requests for access to closed records should be made to the Victorian Department of Education and Training.
The records in this series are grouped into two consignments – P0001 & P0002.
Consignment P0001 is open access and includes administrative records, such as official correspondence, the school newsletter, minutes of meetings of the school committee/council, and of the parent teachers association, policy documents, inspectors reports, budget documents, and a published history of the school.
Consignment P0002 has closed access due to the personal information contained within it. Items in this consignment include student records, such as admission, attendance, and performance records, as well as teacher and administration records such as accident registers, examination registers, and corporal punishment registers.
