'Millicent' tells the life story of a woman who was sent to the Government Receiving Home, then to Sister Kate's Children's Home in Western Australia. It is published on the Australian Human Rights Commission website and comes from the 'Bringing them home' report. Millicent's brother was sent to the Kenwick Farm. As well as describing what it felt like to grow up away from her family, Millicent tells about her life after leaving Sister Kate's, when she was sent out to service as a 'domestic' on a farm and how she had a baby that was removed from her care.
