Details

This series contains correspondence files from the Chief Secretary’s Office and Permier’s Department. The files relate to a wide range of matters, but include 11 items relating to child and youth migration, specifically to the migration of boys for use as farm labourers. Some of these files contain names of boys who migrated, including names of boys placed at the Riverview Training Home, as well as discussion of accidents, illness, and deaths of boys. The dates of the full contents of this series is 1871-1980, however the files relating to child and youth migration only date from 1910-1936. This series does not appear to contain any other items that are of relevance to Care Leavers, former Child Migrants, or members of the Stolen Generaitons.
