Logan Reserve Lodge was operated by the De La Salle Brothers (in conjunction with BoysTown). It was a residental care facility that housed six girls aged 12 to 16 years. It opened in 1989, was funded from June 1991 and closed 3 December 2001.
The 1999 publication, A Piece of the Story, a National Directory of Records of Catholic Organisations Caring for Children Separated from Families, described the establishment of Logan Reserve Lodge as follows:
At the instigation of the then Director of BoysTown, Beaudesert, and with the approval of the Provincial of the De La Salle Brothers, a … restricted accommodation facility for girls was established.
A Piece of the Story stated that a register of all girls, including basic personal details, had been maintained by the facility. Most recent records are more extensive and include copies of education certificates and other information.
