The Guardianship Board had five members. In 1963, they were the Director of Social Welfare, the Director of Psychiatric Services and three others, one of whom had to be a woman, and the other, a medical practitioner with experience in diagnosing and treating mental illness. In 1965, eighty people came under the auspices of the Guardianship Board.
The Guardianship and Administration Act of 1995 replaced the Guardianship Board with the Guardianship and Administration Board.
