St Mary’s Home, Taringa was established in 1898. It was operated by the Society of the Sacred Advent until 1907 when the Committee of St Mary’s Church of England Home took control. In 1919 St Mary’s Home, Taringa amalgamated with the Brisbane Female Refuge and relocated to Bent Street, Toowong. The Home was renamed St Mary’s Home, Toowong.
