Client Files, Charlton Youth Services is an archival series held by Anglicare Out-of-Home Care Services. It comprises records, including residential and counselling records from Homes run by Charlton Youth Services, dating from the 1950s to the present. The amount and type of information varies from client to client. In most cases there is at least an admission form which records name, age, date of birth, family details, and reason for applying for admission. In some, but not all cases, there may also be counselling reports, court papers, Department of Community Services reports, and correspondence.
Access to information contained in these records is restricted to ex-clients, or to a member of an ex-client's family providing they have the written permission of that person. Before information is given out it is checked for anything which may cause distress and if necessary a counsellor is called in. People applying to get access to information must provide proof of identity.
Quantity: 22 filing cabinet drawers and boxes.
